There are some users that I can remote without a problem, other users will give me an Access is Denied. I log into the terminal server itself and try to remote control the sessions.
Again, it works for some users on the same servers so a global config like this I believe should not be a problem. I thought it could be a gpo, but all the user permissions trickle down to all the OU's no matter what department they're in. We do not have a farm setup that's how it was when I started here and that's in my to-do list. Instead we use windows NLB network load balancing but doubt that's the issue In AD I have checked the remote control tab to enable remote control, insteract with the session I even unchecked the requires permission but no luck I have read of others that can't connect AT ALL to any user, my issue is that some do and some do not!
After many stumbling many websites someone mentioned multiple monitors, so I fixed my search accordingly The users that I was testing with yesterday and failed i believe all had multiple monitors, then ones that worked had a single. Addit is an IT service provider. Yes, multiple monitors will have that effect. I use 3 monitors myself, but that does not matter in this regard.
Trying to remotely control any session where the user have more than one monitor always fail. So I have started installing the Teamviewer client on every client PC - that way I can at least have access to the user session.
I cant understand how microsoft can't make this work. Unfortunately we have a high amount of thinclients and teamviewer is not possible :. Yes, I also have users with thin clients Windows based and I am not having any issues installing Teamviewer host on them.
When trying to remote control a session, by design, Microsoft disables remote control with multiple monitor. If it is, this is likely the cause.
Work around. Do not use RDP client to initiate the connection. Create a batch file and place it on the desktop to initiate the connection.
Here is how to do it. Create a new text document and name it RDP. You may need to unhide file extensions to properly rename the file. Now right click the RDP. Type the following command and then save and close the file.
This worked for me on server Standard running terminal services.Download MSI. AnyDesk allows you to establish remote desktop connections in Windows 10 and opens up unprecedented possibilities of collaborating online and administrating your IT network.
