According to a State Patrol incident report, the crash occurred just after 6 p. The report says an eastbound semi and a westbound Ford Fusion were traveling on Highway 14 when the two vehicles collided. Merritt Lyle Davis, the year-old driver of the semi, suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg thought he hit a deer when he fatally struck a pedestrian on a highway over the weekend, authorities said Monday. Ravnsborg, of Pierre, was driving a Ford Taurus at the time and was not injured.

Bormann said in a statement Monday that Ravnsborg drinks occasionally, but he was not imbibing prior to the fatal crash. Ravnsborg had received six traffic tickets for speeding in South Dakota in the last six years.
